THE AVALANCHE HUNTER

In this adventure vignette, we get a look behind the scenes into the often invisible world of avalanche control and avalanche professionals. The story follows Roz Reynolds, an “avalanche hunter” and certified badass, who is not only blazing trails in her field and keeping the public safe in the mountains, but also laying first tracks on backcountry slopes, on the USA Ice Climbing team, and more.

CREMAINS UNKNOWN

Danielle McCarthy, a Gold Star wife, unexpectedly lost her husband, David, a U.S. Veteran, in 2017. His body was brought to Sunset Mesa in Montrose, Colorado to be cremated. One day, she received a call from the FBI informing her that the cremains she had may not be her husband after all. As a result of the FBI investigation, Danielle learned David’s body had been sold without her consent and later learned it's not considered illegal in the state of Colorado. This is Danielle’s story.

ENDURANCE

At 15 years old Janine Penny went to her doctor for a general checkup and before she knew what was happening, found herself stuck in the ICU. That was the beginning of her journey battling anorexia nervosa. Since then, she has worked through the high’s and low’s of recovery to come to the realization that what began as a fight for her life has become a fight for her own freedom.
